THE FESTIVAL EVENT OF THE SUMMER!!!

7th August, 2008

We would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who joined us at the weekend for the second Live at Loch Lomond. Some 26,000 festival-goers enjoyed performances from Groove Armada, Sex Pistols, Ocean Colour Scene, Pete Doherty and the Happy Mondays, to name but a few.

The 5000 capacity dance tent was jam packed the entire weekend and Subculture and Death Disco tents were a huge hit with crowds. The Email/The Box stage featured some of the best unsigned bands around with bigger names, including King Creosote, thrilling fans with an amazing set to close the festival.

Despite the weather warnings, we only had a couple of heavy showers and the rest of the weekend was glorious and everyone soaked up the sun and played in the mud which was left over from a very rainy Thursday and Friday when we were setting up the site.

Lastly, an apology to both bands and fans for Saturdays delay. Unfortunately it was taken out of our hands by heavy rain on Thursday and Friday a...

A NOTE FROM A FAN…

1st August, 2008

Over the past few months we’ve been sending you some great info and teasers for this year’s most talked about festival so on the eve of the big party we thought we would let you hear what one of our fan’s has to say…

“Live at Loch Lomond? I can’t wait for it! I went last year with my girlfriend and a few friends and had a fantastic weekend! This year there is an even bigger crowd of us heading down and everyone is as buzzing as me, my phone not stopped since I got up this morning.

The line up this year looks ever better than the previous, The Sex Pistols, Pete Docherty, Ocean Colour Scene and who can forget Groove Armada? One of the highlights of last year’s festival was without any doubt the BOX Tent, so I’ll more than likely spend half my weekend in there.

Aye it was chucking it down on the Sunday last year, but what’s a festival without a little bit of mud? Even though it’s pretty wet and dull at the moment, it’s meant to be dry and even sunny over the w...

IT'S LOOKING GOOD!!!

29th July, 2008

The count down continues and down here on the Bonnie Bonnie Banks the excitement is at fever pitch. We are currently erecting the stages and tents and the site looks magnificent. The all new Good Vibrations tent, which is sure to be a fans favourite has the Loch as a back drop and to say it looks stunning is an understatement.

This year is going to be a little special, we have even had some DJ's and Bands come down early to see the site and many have asked to come early to savour what will really be the festival event of the summer. So look out for a celebrity or two mingling with the fans.

We've taken a few snaps for you to include you in the build up and will be keeping you up to date with all the latest news, tips and weather reports every day. Current weather report from our man in the Met Office looks good so lets hope it keeps up.

5 DAYS TO GO!!!

28th July, 2008

They may be a bit longer in the tooth these days but it's fair to say that The Sex Pistols still capture the imagination of the world with their Punk Rock antics.

The Sex Pistols swearing during an early evening live broadcast of Thames Television's Today programme is the archive's most requested TV clip. The programme, which was aired in December 1976, created a storm of publicity.

FremantleMedia Archives, which says it is "one of the world's largest clip and stills libraries" released its most popular requests to celebrate its 40th anniversary. And guess who was Number 1? The Sex Pistols!

So with less than a week to go to their history making performance on The Bonnie Bonnie Banks we couldn't be more excited.

See you Saturday! It's going to be amazing!

WKD AND WINDY!!!

25th July, 2008

Prepare for wind – WKD style!

There’s a new star headlining Live at Loch Lomond this year – and it might just blow you away!
WKD will be adding its very own wind tunnel – AKA “The WKD Run”- to the line-up, offering you the chance to test yourself against the mighty forces of nature (well, technically, it’s an extremely high-powered fan – but you get the idea.) Reckon you’ve got what it takes to reach the other end unscathed? If the wind doesn’t put you off, the crowds cheering you on might!

This isn’t just a load of hot air – anyone who makes the leader board at the festival on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August will get their hands on a WKD hairy hat and go into a draw to win a case of (yes, you guessed it) WKD.

Grab your chance to run the gauntlet – if you dare…

ONLY BUY TICKETS FROM OFFICIAL OUTLETS

18th July, 2008

WE URGE YOU NOT TO BUY TICKETS UNLESS THEY ARE FROM AN OFFICIAL TICKET OUTLET!

We have learned today that £90,000 worth of tickets for this year’s festival have gone missing en route from ticket outlet, Ticketmaster’s courier company Interlink Express, one of the largest and most successful in the UK.

The tickets, which comprised of 500 tickets for Saturday’s event, 500 weekend tickets left Ticketmaster’s Glasgow office and were being couriered from Glasgow to the company’s despatch centre in Manchester. When the package arrived it was damaged and the centre discovered that the tickets were missing.

Ricky Magowan, organiser, commented:

“With only a fortnight to go until this year’s Live at Loch Lomond, we are extremely upset that the tickets have gone missing. We are urging fans NOT to buy tickets unless they are from one of our official ticket outlets listed on our website. They would be wasting their money and will be turned away by se...

FESTIVAL DEBUT FOR DOUG WALKER!!

21st April, 2008

For Sunday 3rd August we are proud to announce that self-promoted star DOUG WALKER will be playing the Main Stage. If you’ve not heard of this guy then chances are that you’ve been in a cave for the last 8 months!

He shot to stardom in the space of one day after the simple plan of standing outside Radio 1 one fateful day in August 2007. He handed out copies of his single ‘The Mystery’ to unsuspecting staff, from the cleaners to the security staff, hoping that one of them would land on the desk of a DJ or influential figure at the station. His luck turned as breakfast show host Chris Moyles showed up for a routine shift on air, he handed him a copy of the single and thought he would never see him again. Next thing he knew, Chris had played his single live on air and the response was phenomenal. Fast forward to now and he’s recorded his new album ‘Fear Together’ in New York with Coldplay’s producer and Jeff Buckley’s mixing man, something that he would never have dreamed would ...
